This is a title I came up with at work for part of some trend research I was doing. Its been re-worked every season adding new twists to keep it fresh. I personally love it and have started to wear more 'tom boyish' outfits. I now love wearing baggy clothes, it's comfy and practical. Gone are my skin tight clothes (until I shape up anyway! Ha). The tomboy look is here to stay. Victoria Beckham quoted in Sept Grazia that what's new for spring/summer 2014 is the proportions. "Boy-meets-girl with a feminine wave running through it."
This little obsession came from one of my favourite bloggers, Leandra Medine aka The Man Repeller. I love her, i want to be her. If you are unaware of this amazing women, click
here now, for her brave sense of style, and fashion with quirky humor! Her definition of a Men Repeller? "
outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive mode that may result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs." Big girl crush. In a recent post she asks the question... "
We’ve been working to look like little boys or far older men for how many seasons now?"
Here are some of her extremely stylish mannish looks:
Here she is actually wearing her hubby's clothes, perfecting the Hers & Sirs trend.
This jumper is actually from the men's department of Uniqlo.
And more looks sourced from Pinterest...
And here is a something I put together:
