Forgotten Garden

So that task I was doing at work, planning and implementing a display case in a shopping centre. I did it yesterday morning. After the research and sourcing the props, I just hoped that it would look as good in real life as it did in my head. and it did! yay!

I loved researching a theme and had a couple of ideas but decided on a 'forgotten garden' theme, as its officially been Autumn for a while now, well you may even call it winter here in Scotland! I felt like it was a little bit of a safe theme, but I tried to put my own twist on it. I had to stop myself getting carried away and remember that the purpose of the display was to showcase the shoes! haha.

I love creating mood boards, so when I was given this task I didn't pass up the opportunity to create one!

My handy work -

What's your Autumn theme?

Hers & Sirs

This is a title I came up with at work for part of some trend research I was doing. Its been re-worked every season adding new twists to keep it fresh. I personally love it and have started to wear more 'tom boyish' outfits. I now love wearing baggy clothes, it's comfy and practical. Gone are my skin tight clothes (until I shape up anyway! Ha). The tomboy look is here to stay. Victoria Beckham quoted in Sept Grazia that what's new for spring/summer 2014 is the proportions. "Boy-meets-girl with a feminine wave running through it."

This little obsession came from one of my favourite bloggers, Leandra Medine aka The Man Repeller. I love her, i want to be her. If you are unaware of this amazing women, click here now, for her brave sense of style, and fashion with quirky humor! Her definition of a Men Repeller? "outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive mode that may result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs." Big girl crush. In a recent post she asks the question... "We’ve been working to look like little boys or far older men for how many seasons now?"

Here are some of her extremely stylish mannish looks:

Here she is actually wearing her hubby's clothes, perfecting the Hers & Sirs trend.

This jumper is actually from the men's department of Uniqlo.

And more looks sourced from Pinterest...

And here is a something I put together:

Is this style for you? Try it, you'll love it.
