This dress never fails me.

I bought this tartan slip dress from Zara absolutely ages ago! I have wanted to do a post on it for a while but just never got round to it. So here it is.

I can't even remember how much it was- maybe £30? Zara surprises me sometimes, I see something and think "ooo but how much is it?" Then I check and when I'm surprised at the good price- I have to buy it there and then! No thinking about it. And I'm so glad I did. Ive worn it loads during the day with a roll neck jumper, I've also worn it out on a casual night out with a tshirt underneath and trainers and then with heels and no tshirt/ jumper underneath- which is a little sexy!!

Here is my day time look - I've teamed it with stripey socks for a sporty touch!

Dress: Zara
Roll neck: Uniqlo
Coat: Armstrong Vintage
Bag: Michael Kors
Reeboks: schuh
Socks: Topshop

Shoes over food... or both!

You know me- I love a shoe!

I have two new pairs to add to my collection.

Fly Girl from Schuh.

Vans from schuh.

This week I went ice skating with the girls from work and for some yummy food afterwards! We went to a vegetarian restaurant Hendersons. I highly recommend it, the food was amazing and the service great!

This year, I decided to have a little theme with my wrapping instead of just buying novelty Christmas wrapping paper. (I have no idea how I am going to take these back home with me along with two weeks worth of clothes and outfit options for a night out and New Years Eve!!)

On the subject of a night out - I wish I had a spare £50! I do not normally shop in River Island, but I walked past earlier and spotted the dreaded Sale vinyl in the window and thought what the hell, I'm going in! I tried 3 items on, first two were awful! The third - not normally something I would even try on - but I loved it, but as I said, if only I had a spare £50! (This was in the sale too!) I would probably only have worn it the once on the night out, then it would have been added to my 'one wear' collection of dresses!

Do you have a NYE outfit?

Christmas Party Time Again.

Its that time of the year again. Christmas Party and the stress of what to wear to it.

For me it was particularly stressful as it was my first 'head office' party, so I wanted to look just right. And everything I tried on, just didn't look just right. I try something on and I instantly know I want to wear it, so I buy it. This usually happens when I don't need anything or do not have the money! This occasion I literally tried everything on. The below photos were the possibilities and the photos aren't great as they are in the changing rooms whilst I was stressing out! ha. I tried so much on, but these made it into the maybe list.

I was in London for work the Tuesday and Wednesday before the party on the Friday night, so I thought 'of course I will find something in London on Oxford Street, or Carnaby Street or Regent Street.

One good thing room my London trip was visiting this amazing restaurant- Mildreds. See the foodie shots below. I just can't help myself!

What I actually ended up wearing to the Christmas party was a boiler suit from Topshop. And I didn't get a photo to show you! It's from Topshop and wasn't what I thought  I would wear to the Christmas party. But I blinged it up with some jewelry and my gold clutch bag. Glamed it up with false lashes, lipstick and heels! And I loved it! Can't wait to wear it out again and casually during the day! I'll make sure I get some photos next time.
What did you wear to your Christmas party? Or planning on wearing? There has been so many offers and promotions for the perfect party outfit! I wish I was having another one!

Hello New Life...

It’s been 14 days, not too bad, I’ve been worse before. However, the last time I was absent, I said I’m going to blog more and this still hasn’t happened. I’m sorry. Once I am settled in my new life, this should start to happen.

This post is being written from the bonnie land of Scotland, in my unglamorous hotel room. My evenings have been taken up by hunting for a flat/ house share in Edinburgh. Scary Shit. I know.

The weekend was kinda fun tho, I visited a couple of places and spent the weekend up and down Princes Street. Learning where all the vital shops, such as; Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Zara and H&M are. I found them all, and unfortunately spent money I don’t have in them all. Typical. No new shoes in a while tho.

I can’t wait to have another ‘recky’ and find some boutique and vintage shops. Also, I hear Glasgow is good for shopping too. Going to have to wait until all my new grown up house/ flat bills are paid until I can visit the streets of Glasgow. I will deffo write a post about any cool shops I find. (and probably the buys too!)

So I haven’t really got any pictures yet, as unfortunately my hotel isn’t in Edinburgh, and when I was there at the weekend, I was dashing about and getting my bearings. I did manage this shot, in-between the rain showers and when the sun decided to shine.

As I am in a hotel, I cannot cook, so I have eaten on my own in restaurants, yes you read correctly! Lol. And the way things are going, I’ll have piled on a few pounds by the time I finally move in to a place, so once I’m settled I need a total detox. The odd night I have done a meal deal, but obv not photo worthy!

Never leave the house, in Scotland, without a rain coat …

Rain coat: George @ Asda
Jumper: ebay
White Dress: Topshop (old)
Rings: Mixture of vintage and H&M

I’ve had my eye on these leather jogging pants, and on Sunday, whilst killing time between flat/ house viewings I decided to purchase them. What a great decision. (Ignore the hotel room!)

Jumper: Zara (sale)
Faux Leather Jogging Pants: Topshop
Vans: Schuh

What’s new with you?

Yay for the midi...

I love midi dresses and skirts, I'm quite short so they are better for me than a maxi dress/ skirt. I love throwing on a midi and a baggy t-shirt or shirt, as it is comfortable and stylish. The majority of my midi dresses are quite figure hugging, which at the minute, is my worse nightmare!

So this sale steal from Topshop is my new fav dress, as it isn't tight fitting, it is comfortable and doesn't need much styling to look good, today I forgot to put a necklace on whilst rushing around before work (no excuse I know, one should never forget a necklace!) but I got away with it. I love the finish at the bottom, with the length being longer at the back...

I got my white Zara bag for my birthday in March, and have only really started using it, I was too scared to get it mucky! It is a perfect way to tap into the 'white' s/s13 trend, I would love to dress head to toe in white, or have white trousers but for me, they it is just not practical, (boring I know) I can't trust myself not to spill something on them! Haha. Infact, talking about white, I purchased some gorgeous white shorts ages ago, and have still yet to wear them. That must go on to my to do list.

The varsity jacket was a brilliant find, when doing the food shop in Asda, I always check George, just in case, and this time I was extremely glad I did. I bought it quite a while ago now, but it literally goes with everything, and is a good way of updating older clothes.

Mac is one of my fav makeup brands, and this particular lipstick is my fail safe, I got it when I had grey hair, I think it would suit any hair colour to be honest, and is a perfect 'in the day' lipstick colour, not too dark and not too bright.

Dress: Topshop
Denim shirt (around waist): Topshop
Varsity Jacket: G21 range at George @ Asda
Socks: Urban Outfitters
Flatform Hightops: Schuh
Handbag: Zara
Sunglasses: Asos
Lipstick: MAC, 'Up the Amp' shade

Sale Splurge

So recently, I have been feeling the 'I have no clothes' scenario. I do not have much disposable income this month, therefore can only buy sale or if I know I am going to get my wear out of the item. I saw this on Instagram the other day, and thought - 'that is sooooooooooooo me.'
This week I have been a lady of leisure, lunch dates on Monday and Tuesday, dinner date Wednesday evening... I have consumed lots of lovely food, but I am now trying to healthy eat and exercise, as towards the end of completing my degree, the healthy eating and exercise went out the window! (There's always room for a food shot.)

Tues my lunch date was in Nottingham, and us girls cannot have a lunch date without a little shopping!
First attempt at a selfie: (haha)

T-shirt: Asos
Jumper: Ebay
Skirt: Topshop
Socks and Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Coat: Topshop
Bag: Zara
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell from Office
Phone case: Ebay

The vintage shop COW is a shop I visit every time I am in Nottingham, and usually walk out with at least one purchase. The shorts were a steal as they were reduced. Originally, I wasn't a fan of the fringe/ tassel trend, but these shorts aren't too ott, or in your face. I don't exactly know what I'll wear with them yet, especially as I'm not going on holiday, but I'm sure I'll figure something out, and will post the outfit photos at a later date....

Cow Nottingham:

H&M Nottingham:

This jacket wasn't in the sale, but if you hesitate in H&M the next time you go back for it, it won't be there! I think its the perfect statement jacket, tapping into the monochrome trend, without over doing it. I will prob wear this during the day with jeans and a tshirt and with my yellow Zara bag, for a splash of colour. The beauty of it being black and white, with only thin stripes is that I'm going to be able to throw it over more a less anything. Plus black and white is timeless.

Office Nottingham:

We went into Office with the intention of looking at the sale, it wasn't that impressive however, these beauties were...

As it was raining heavily this morning, my jog got postponed, so me and my sister thought we'd hit the Topshop sale nice and early! There was something of everything reduced; t-shirts, trousers, leggings, jeans, dresses. After a good look through the rails and about an hour trying on (prob a slight exaggeration there, but it wouldn't have been the first time I've spent an hour in their changing rooms! lol) we got the best buys I thought that were there...

The Dungarees:

I have already done a post on dungarees (take a look) and I have had my eye on this elephant one from Topshop for a while, and it has finally gone into the sale. (YAY)

Colour Play:

A neon orange statement skirt, that I will wear in the day with a t-shirt, sandals (weather permitting) or boots, or in the evening with a tank or cami tucked in with heels.  I couldn't resist the fun vibrant jumper, which has obviously taken inspiration from the Kenzo jumpers everyone is wearing, but with that price tag, I doubt I will ever own one. One can dream tho. The black maxi skirt is an investment as can be worn now and in the winter with chunky knits, the slit is a bit sexy, eh?

Back to Basics:

These are just everyday items, that every wardrobe will welcome, obsessing over the neon orange, so a chunky knit in that colour is perfect for this 'cant make my mind up' weather. It can easily be tied around the waist, if the sun does decide to appear for an effortless stylish look. The grey jersey midi dress, will take me from day to night, so that couldn't be left on the rails. We 'ummmed' and 'arrrred' about the skirt, but decided this could be worn with the over sized boyfriend t-shirts previously blogged about...

Finishing Touches:

Statement necklaces can update any look, and I love to wear as many rings as possible! So here is the bling... (p.s how cute are the zebra socks.)

Have you hit the sales yet.... you know you want too
