Teddy Bear Coat.

How is everyone's January blues going?

Last week I had an amazing week and was behind the scenes at our (schuh) SS14 campaign. I have never been to a photoshoot before so I was LOVING it. I have lots of photos to share and if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen some tasters of the shoot last week. I will dedicate a post to it soon though.

I thought I'd share some of my new buys... Have you heard of oniochalasia? It's buying or shopping as a method of stress relief or relaxation! Also I saw this this other day "sweating while you shop counts as exercise!" Which I keep telling myself today especially as I have only been to the gym twice this week! But I have done lots of walking!

Anyway, so my fave purchase is probably my new jumper which arrived Wednesday - I love coming home from work with a parcel awaiting for me! Especially when I have forgotten what it was I ordered! (That's bad isn't it?!) I would never be able to afford an ACNE jumper so when I found a link to this jumper off a fashion blogger I follow Hannah Crosskey I couldn't help myself. If you haven't come across Hannah's personal style blog before, you should definitely start following it. ACNE's name derives from "ambition to create novel expression."

Also my teddy bear coat which I found today in a vintage shop called Armstrong in Grass Market, Edinburgh. I probably could have done with it before now as it's cosy warm, but up here it is still freezing so I will get quite a few wears out of it still. Plus I don't think it will ever go out of style- so an investment piece too.

Trousers: H&M
Coat: Armstrong Vintage
Nike Roshe trainers: schuh
Socks: Topshop (see below picture)

Selfie with a fedora style hat I didn't purchase as I couldn't wear the hat with the coat! ott. I could probably wear it when not wearing the coat- I only tried it on as hats don't suit my short hair- but I was surprised that it actually didn't look too hideous!

Other purchases that make me happy.

Clutch: Zara sale

Socks: Topshop - I CANNOT wait to rock these with some chunky sandals and Birkenstocks. Hurry up summer!

You cant go wrong with another pair of jeans.

Jeans: Topshop sale

iPhone 5 phone case: KENZO

Love or hate the case? I LOVE!

12 days to Christmas

I can't believe it is 12 days to Christmas! That means in 11 days I travel from Edinburgh to Sheffield to see my family! yay! I actually cannot believe how quickly time has gone since I moved here!

I need to do all my Christmas shopping still. I'm useless! And to top it off I'm writing this blog from my bed as I have been poorly sick. I hate being poorly, I feel like I'm wasting time resting to get better. But if I don't rest then I don't get better!

I was looking online last night for Christmas jumpers, I didn't buy one in the end as the original one I wanted I can't afford! I love this jumper! Its a good job its sold out or I probably would have just purchased it!

Eleven Paris @ Selfridges

The cheaper one I wanted probably wouldn't have been delivered to me in time to wear to my works Christmas lunch next week. And its just not as nice as the one above, right? I would have just ended up always comparing it and then probably not even wear it!

Boohoo
Here are a few other favourites of mine that are available - most of them pretty ugly but that's the point, and at least they are festive!

Topshop

asos marketplace

 Amazon

River Island

Miss Guided

(how nice is the bag! I'm going to see if that is on there website now!)

Feeling Christmassy? I still am not. Maybe it's because I'm poorly? Or maybe it's because I need that Eleven Paris Christmas jumper! I think it's both!

How I'd wear #1

How I'd wear Bambi...

I saw a Givenchy style sweatshirt in primark. I bought it but then couldn't bring myself to wear it, so returned it.

I would never be able to afford the real thing, But here is how I would wear it...
Sweatshirt: Givenchy
Jeans: Paige Verdugo
Black Trousers: Balmain
Printed Joggers: Topshop
Grey Skirt: J.W Anderson
Tartan Skorts: Topshop
Cream Skirt: Carven
Black Boots: Alien
Trainers: New Balance 574
Heels: Topshop
Bag: Michael Kors
Earrings and Midi Rings: Topshop
Red Lipstick: Lancome
Pink Lipstick: Victoria's Secret

The majority of the above, I also wouldn't be able to afford! ha. However we can all dream of how we would wear these items, especially for inspiration when shopping on the high street and online!

How would you wear yours?

There's no excuses...

...for my absence, apart from the fact that I  have joined the gym, so have literally lived there all this week. I think I'm nearly settled in my new Edinburgh flat. The house share isn't perfect, but what is?

I'm getting the hang of my new job, I have already traveled down south to visit stores and their visual merchandising. I have finished one cool project and in the process of organising another one - which is creating a display for a display case in a shopping centre.  This is something I have really enjoyed doing, and still enjoying, hope I get the next one. I put it into action in October and will definitely take a pic of my handy work. So will pop in in post somewhere!

Not really got that much of a social life atm, (not that I had one back at home!) but I managed to see the end of the Fringe Festival. Which was fun. I would deffo recommend it to anyone that was thinking  about going next year. (Maybe see you there?) This was the first time I had been to a comedy show. I've always been worried I wouldn't get the jokes. There were only like two that I didn't get. Ha.

I've eaten out at this amazing place... 56 North

Yes. It was as good as it looks: mushroom, pepper, mozzarella and pesto burger. NOM. I absolutely love how the fries came!

Jumper: Urban Outfiters (not that much of a jumper really, as its not thick or warm, but looks great thrown over anything!)
Dress: White Chocoolate from Asos
Boots: Schuh
Necklace: Zara
Choker: Topshop

My first week in the flat, me and the boyf did quiet a few walks, getting to know Edinburgh etc. There are so many beautiful buildings - and this is from a girl that never thought she'd say that. Ha. There's also lots of hills and stairs!

My jumper obsession: Zara (of course its Zara, you can just tell right?!)
Skirt: River Island from Asos
Coat: Topshop (old)

Pink is everywhere... I like it... so pink made it into my wardrobe. I do want a pink coat, I've seen so many that I can't afford, and a really nice one in Topshop that I can afford. But I'm just thinking it is not going to be practical in rainy Scotland! I bet it would get grubby quickly. Eugh - when did I start to care about practicality. It would look so pretty in my wardrobe tho. My hair has also gone back to being pink, well 'candy floss' so not as bright as it was before. I did try to take a 'selfie' but i suck at them. (Jumper is from Primark, bought 2 sizes too big so that it was wearable!)

Some random shots:

My Schuhbie night out outfit, originally I wanted this jumpsuit in black but they didn't have my size, so my friend talked me into buying the orange! and I loved it!
Jumpsuit: Topshop
Heels: Schuh
Choker: Topshop
Black Slip Dress: Topshop
Black Heels: Topshop
Clutch Bag: Zara (sale)

Tartan and cut out hype.
Skirt: Zara
Shoes: New look

Attempting a changing room selfie. I totally regret not buying this detailed Topshop jumper. I may have to return for it.

I'm so glad I bought this beauty before I left Derby, well in fact its from a vintage shop called COW in Nottingham. When I'm back home I will deffo be taking a trip to check out what other goodies they have.

I can't believe how quick time is going.

Sale Splurge

So recently, I have been feeling the 'I have no clothes' scenario. I do not have much disposable income this month, therefore can only buy sale or if I know I am going to get my wear out of the item. I saw this on Instagram the other day, and thought - 'that is sooooooooooooo me.'
This week I have been a lady of leisure, lunch dates on Monday and Tuesday, dinner date Wednesday evening... I have consumed lots of lovely food, but I am now trying to healthy eat and exercise, as towards the end of completing my degree, the healthy eating and exercise went out the window! (There's always room for a food shot.)

Tues my lunch date was in Nottingham, and us girls cannot have a lunch date without a little shopping!
First attempt at a selfie: (haha)

T-shirt: Asos
Jumper: Ebay
Skirt: Topshop
Socks and Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Coat: Topshop
Bag: Zara
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell from Office
Phone case: Ebay

The vintage shop COW is a shop I visit every time I am in Nottingham, and usually walk out with at least one purchase. The shorts were a steal as they were reduced. Originally, I wasn't a fan of the fringe/ tassel trend, but these shorts aren't too ott, or in your face. I don't exactly know what I'll wear with them yet, especially as I'm not going on holiday, but I'm sure I'll figure something out, and will post the outfit photos at a later date....

Cow Nottingham:

H&M Nottingham:

This jacket wasn't in the sale, but if you hesitate in H&M the next time you go back for it, it won't be there! I think its the perfect statement jacket, tapping into the monochrome trend, without over doing it. I will prob wear this during the day with jeans and a tshirt and with my yellow Zara bag, for a splash of colour. The beauty of it being black and white, with only thin stripes is that I'm going to be able to throw it over more a less anything. Plus black and white is timeless.

Office Nottingham:

We went into Office with the intention of looking at the sale, it wasn't that impressive however, these beauties were...

As it was raining heavily this morning, my jog got postponed, so me and my sister thought we'd hit the Topshop sale nice and early! There was something of everything reduced; t-shirts, trousers, leggings, jeans, dresses. After a good look through the rails and about an hour trying on (prob a slight exaggeration there, but it wouldn't have been the first time I've spent an hour in their changing rooms! lol) we got the best buys I thought that were there...

The Dungarees:

I have already done a post on dungarees (take a look) and I have had my eye on this elephant one from Topshop for a while, and it has finally gone into the sale. (YAY)

Colour Play:

A neon orange statement skirt, that I will wear in the day with a t-shirt, sandals (weather permitting) or boots, or in the evening with a tank or cami tucked in with heels.  I couldn't resist the fun vibrant jumper, which has obviously taken inspiration from the Kenzo jumpers everyone is wearing, but with that price tag, I doubt I will ever own one. One can dream tho. The black maxi skirt is an investment as can be worn now and in the winter with chunky knits, the slit is a bit sexy, eh?

Back to Basics:

These are just everyday items, that every wardrobe will welcome, obsessing over the neon orange, so a chunky knit in that colour is perfect for this 'cant make my mind up' weather. It can easily be tied around the waist, if the sun does decide to appear for an effortless stylish look. The grey jersey midi dress, will take me from day to night, so that couldn't be left on the rails. We 'ummmed' and 'arrrred' about the skirt, but decided this could be worn with the over sized boyfriend t-shirts previously blogged about...

Finishing Touches:

Statement necklaces can update any look, and I love to wear as many rings as possible! So here is the bling... (p.s how cute are the zebra socks.)

Have you hit the sales yet.... you know you want too
